Divest

Director:

Desmond Jackson

Cinematography Approach:

This short film is my second thesis film in Chapman University. The story is about a manic depressive animator hears some wired noise at a storm night. Thanks to the my friend, the head of art department Kris dressed this living room into a convincing art studio. Lighting wise, we used purple moon light, which is a bold decision, to show how bizarre his mental status is. The practical lights were set to tungsten for complementarity. Another decision we made is to use lightning effects to increase the sense of horror because when the lightning is on, that is the chance for audience to scan the dark corners of the room.

Genre:

Horror
